MarinTrust Certification or Improver Programme (IP) acceptance status may be suspended or withdrawn by registered Certification Body (CB) due to various reasons. This may include evidence from the CB that  a certified facility has failed to meet any of the MarinTrust requirements and the CB’s own “Rules Governing Certification”.

Certificate or IP acceptance status suspension is when a certificate or IP acceptance status is made invalid for limited period. Certificates or IP acceptance status may be reinstated provided  any issues raised have been rectified. If such issues are not rectified, the certificate may then be withdrawn.

Certificate or IP acceptance status withdrawal refers to permanent cancellation of a certificate or IP acceptance status. This can be:

  • Optional withdrawal where the certificate holder or IP Accepted Site voluntary request for withdrawal.
  • Failure to meet any of the MarinTrust requirements and/or the CB’s own “Rules Governing Certification”.

Withdrawn certificate or IP acceptance status cannot be restored and the certificate or IP acceptance document is removed from our website. To regain certification or IP acceptance status, the withdrawn certificate holder or IP Accepted Site may reapply as a new applicant following a set period to ensure that systems are in place to fully address issues raised.
