MarinTrust has accomplished a significant milestone with its Chain of Custody (CoC) Standard achieving ISO/IEC 17065 accreditation, validating the robustness of the Standard to support responsible supply chain assurance. Since the launch in November 2020, MarinTrust has continued to develop the Version 2.0 of the Standard, with securing formal accreditation being a main focus for long-term credibility and international recognition.

With certification bodies (CBs) operating within the MarinTrust programme based in Europe, it is crucial to ensure alignment and agreement across all relevant European accreditation bodies (EAs) on the Standard’s requirements and procedures. Accreditation is a rigorous, internationally recognised mechanism that confirms the competence, impartiality and integrity of organisations certifying products, processes and services. With meaningful enhancements to guidance and procedures for the Standard, accreditation provides further confidence and consistency for certificate holders and strengthens trust throughout the supply chain.
